The Trinity Missions Committee

Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

PURPOSE: The Trinity Missions Committee is chartered to:

  • Use the resources given by the Parish to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Support may be for long-term missions, long-term missionaries, short-term missions, short-term missionaries, and outreach projects. These missions and projects may be local or international.
  • Encourage the Parish through guest speakers, presentations, displays and/or direct mailings to support both local and international missions.

STEPS: To request funds for a mission, missionary, or project:

  1. Complete the Trinity Missions Committee Request for Funds.
  2. Submit the Request to the Missions Committee for consideration.
  3. Be prepared to meet with the Missions Committee or its individual members to review the Request.
  4. If approved, follow up with the project to ensure the objectives are met.
  5. Prepare project status reports for the Missions Committee as requested.
  6. As appropriate, Trinity Missions Committee projects may be conducted in coordination with other Christian groups so that by combining its resources with others, Trinity might accomplish more than it would otherwise accomplish alone.

ESSENTIALS:
Proposals will describe how the project is Christ centered. All proposals shall be submitted in writing by at least one (1) voting member of the Parish (as defined in the Trinity Parish By-laws as eligible to vote at the annual Parish Meeting). Proposals shall be for missionaries, missions, or projects within the next twelve (12) months. Proposals whose primary beneficiaries are the sponsoring individuals will not be considered. Funding for any project exceeding twelve (12) months cannot be assumed. If long-term support is desired, a new request should be submitted on an annual basis for review and approval by the Committee.
